Problem with 1702 AP, 802.1x, and DHCP

About 2 months ago we installed some new 1702 series access points on our network. Over that time we've had complaints here and there about connectivity to our internal 802.1x SSID running FlexConnect mode. I have resolved the issue to only clients trying to connect to the 802.1x FlexConnect SSID on the new 1702 series access points.
Authentication to the network is successful according to ACS, but on the client side the connection status just sits on "obtaining IP address". After about a minute or so the client will connect successfully to a nearby 1142 or 1131 series AP. DHCP configuration seem to be fine considering clients connecting to this SSID on a non-1702 series access point works. This is the only error I see in the controller logs (I'm confused why the client sits at "obtaining IP address" if the log shows the client IP:

We're running a 5508 controller on 8.0.115.0 code. The existing access points that work are model 1142 and 1131. I've noticed the VLAN mapping settings are different under the FlexConnect tab for the 1702 series access point too - native vlan cannot be set. I'm not sure if this is where the problem exists. Any ideas?

We're running a 5508 controller on 8.0.115.0 code.
For a start, I'd recommend upgrading the firmware to 8.0.121.0 or 8.1.131.0.

8.0.115.0 is the final version of firmware that supports the 1131 series access points. We have about 10 of them and unfortunately we can't replace them at the moment.

8.0.115.0 is the final version of firmware that supports the 1131 series access points.
Not entirely correct. 8.0.X is the final software that supports 1131. This means ANY 8.0 version, including 8.0.115.X or 8.0.121.X.
Upgrade to 8.0.121.0 and see if this improves things.

Good catch. 8.0.115.0 was the latest version of 8.0 firmware available when we upgraded. 8.0.121.0 came out after we upgraded. We'll give it a try. Thanks!
