Problem with AIR-LAP1252AG-A-K9 - not able to establish ethernet connection.

Hello

I just bought aftermarket AIR-LAP1252AG-A-K9 to improve my home network range.

The problem that I have with that ap is not being able to connect to it via Ethernet. All I have on the front of the device is solid green in the middle, radio off and Ethernet flashing really briefly staying off most of the time. It seems like AP is not able to assign ip to itself. Could it be a broken port?  I am planning to buy serial to rj46 cable soon to see if I can do something via console. Any ideas?

We need to know what the AP is doing. Console into the AP and reboot the AP. Post the entire boot-up process.

I manage to build my own cable today, and here is the ap's boot log.

Please post the complete output to the command "dir flash:".

I suspect the seller deleted the IOS for mischievous reasons.

hmm maybe, this is what I've got.

The directory/folder is present but it is not sure if the IOS file is present in the directory/folder without the output to the command "dir flash:/c1250-k9w8-mx.152-4.JB3".
Do you have access to the autonomous IOS for 1250? If you want to use this as a standalone AP, then you'll need this file.

that's what I have after getting into that directory, and yes I would like to use it as standalone AP

Nope, the AP only has IOS for controller-based. You'll need an autonomous IOS to get this to work without a controller.

Okay, thank you so much for your support so far, I will have a look on the net for more reference around this, anyhow is getting autonomous IOS something do able?

The autonomous IOS for this AP is still downloadable from the Cisco website.  If you know someone who's got access ...

Thank you Leo!

Then I just follow the instructions on how to change the image file via TFTP?

The easiest way to convert an AP from CAPWAP to autonomous is using the "Mode button" method:  Using a TFTP Server to Return to a Previous Release

Thank you once again, Leo. I have managed to get it up and running, although Mode button method didn't work. I had to manually download the software through -xtract command. I am so happy that it is working, because I only paid 1$ for this access point and I was almost sure it is broken.

A word of warning:  Some batches of 1250 are affected by the Cisco Memory Component Failure Issue (Field Notice 63763).

What I am saying is get this thing working and put the configuration to "bed".  Once this fails, you can use the same configuration on another model, like an 1140.
