Problems with Aironet 1100 AP

Hi!

I have a very weird problem with a 1100 AP. I've installed and configured everything. I have 5 pc's in a room (Room A) and 3 pc's in another room (B). The two rooms have a corridor between them. On the room A I have 4 pc's with 11mbps full signal. One of them is having a strange behaviour. The user logons on...and the wireless connection keeps going up and down (from 1mbps to 2 then 5.5 then 11). The speed is always jumping. It's not stable!

On room B, I have 2 pc's without any network signal and one with a "Fair" signal quality.

My question is...I only have two thin brick walls and a corridor between the rooms! Is that normal?? I really don't know what to do. Everything is correctly configured.

Does anyone has a clue?

Thank you very much!

First thing you want to make sure of, is that the access points are on the latest firmware and the clients are running the latest Aironet Client Utility (ACU) and drivers. Then reset the devices back to factory defaults (as sometimes the configuration can have a small glitch) and test them with the default configurations. If everything is working then configure them as you did before. If you encounter the same or similar issues, there could be RF interference coming from some other devices such as cordless phones or lighting fixtures.
