I've just finished configuring QoS on a 5520 WLC running 8.2 code. I want to perform some validation. Does anyone know commands I can use to see how many packets I'm receiving with different DSCP values. I would be interested in both the upstream and downstream packets. I've checked the documents but haven't found any commands that can show me this. I know it can be done by sniffing the WiFi however I'm just trying to do a simple check without setting that up.

Hi
The only qos command available is show qos "category" which will not show what you want.
Probably sniffer is the way to go.

I would use netflow collector (if you already have one to monitor traffic) to verify intended traffic get necessary classification on your network end to end. Since WLC 8.2, WLC netflow provide very useful information, see below for more details.

If you want to see how those set QoS value translate into wireless frames UP values, then you need to have wireless captures. Easiest way is set up Sniffer mode AP with wireshark. See below how to set it up
