Hi all,
i wish to evaluate the virtual WLC for VMWare. Does anyone know if it has an eval license out of the box for a limited time so that I can associate a couole of AP's and perform some testing with it?
thanks
Mario

The vWLC does come with a eval 60 or 90 day license for you to try. The major issue people have is that if you convert AP's to lightweight to test is that you either have to upload the new v15 rcv code or else you have to join the ap to a WLC appliance running v7.3 prior to joining it to the vWLC.

Just in case you run into issues, here is a link to add the hash.

Hi Scott, thanks for this. That looks like my problem then.
Our production WLCs are only at 7.2
So will our AP's also be at 7.2?
Can i explore the ffirst option you suggested about uploading new v15 rcv code? Do you mean upgrading the code on the VM Controller or do you mean upgrading the code on the AP?
Thanks
Mario

Upgrade the code on the AP.
Thanks,
Scott
