Hello,
We have a Wireless LAN controller WLC8500 and we need to manage it through API. We have read about REST API for this purpose. Based on the link below where the commands to Add/Edit/delete WLAN are listed, our request should be feasible but we need more information about the type of API (web, socket or RPC,..) supported on the WLC and how we can access it?
Thank you

The referenced API you mentioned unfortunately is for Prime Infrastructure, not for the WLC

Is there any API to access WLC directly? Or just for Prime?

Hi, I know it´s an old thread, but I have the same question. Did you finally find an API or similar? I use to work with SNMP and MIB locator, but I would like to use API on this ocasion. Thanks!

There is no API for the WLC. You can set it up with SNMP access and to export traps via SNMP but no API.
If you have Cisco Prime Infrastructure, that has a REST API.
Thanks,
Ric

The current SA states something different :)))
A vulnerability in the REST API of Cisco 5500 and 8500 Series Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to view system information that under normal circumstances should be prohibited.

That is a original way to announce a new feature :-) Did you find any related documentation?

I believe the Security Alert relates to the WLC's Webhook API that was added in v8.7.
Webhook deployment guide here FYI:
There's also a Cisco Video about webhook here;
