Roaming Time Spectralink

Hello,
I have a Spectralink 8440 connected to a C9800-CL 17.3.3 in Flexconnect mode Local Switching.
According to the Spectralink VIEW Guide this is currently not supported, however I currently have no other option.
The only problem I am currently experiencing is a long roaming auth time with WPA2-PSK. Is there any way to reduce the roaming time in Flex Connect mode?

Central Association + Central Authentication Current Run Latency: 200-300 ms

All other auth. options increase the roaming time significantly.

Thanks

If a vendor doesn't support a design or let's say a type of implementation, you are steering into a cliff.  What you have to think about is how will Spectralink support help you or the customer if the design guide was not followed.  No other options means you will be winging it and trying to find a way to make it a little better with no support from the manufacturer.

I don't know how you can make roaming better since roaming is determined from the device itself, which is the Spectralink phone.  First thing I would do is test with central switching just to get a baseline and make sure that with their design requirements, everything is working fine.  This way you have a baseline and can go from there.  If your roaming times are the same, well.... that tells you that you have to look elsewhere to figure out the issue.  Can be software issue on the phone or possibly ap density and or locations.

You at least can follow the instructions that Spectrlink has on features they want enabled on the wlan and what they want disable.

What about using local authentication ? did you try that option to see if any differences it makes?

With PSK, if it takes 300ms to roam that is not good

it appears 9800CL is listed as supported since 16.x.x version.

are Spectralink phone running intended recommended firmware.

i would check with both vendor's support teams, troubleshoot, and fix the issue.
