Rogue Access Points --

Odd problem. Big hosp. lots of people bringing laptops in for whatever work. Wireless network uses 802.1x authentication. We are near a sears and the SST-R1 or whatever SSID keeps getting picked up as a Rogue, this is not the problem. I believe when some of my users bring there laptop on business or home when they configure the SSID of home or the hotel, if it is left in there the other APS will pick up the beacon looking for the SSID and report it as a rogue. Some of the SSID's I have seen are

linksys

FlyPittsburgh

I have my building in the location manager and my measurements are pretty exact give or take a few feet, but I can never seem to track down these devices.

Reporting access points that fail authentication with LEAP provides a passive method of detecting rogue access points in a LEAP enabled network. It is passive because access points do not actively look for or detect a rogue access point in the wireless network. Instead, the access point depends on LEAP enabled clients to report rouge access points.
