Should I include this additional RMA contract

Hi everyone,

I’m reviewing a proposal for Meraki MR44 access points and I found something I’d like to clarify about support and licensing. The quote includes:

LIC-ENT-5YR – Meraki MR Enterprise License, 5 years

CON-ROB-MR44HWRL – RMA Upgrade 8x5xNBD Meraki MR44, 60 months

From my understanding, the Enterprise License already includes 24x7 TAC support, software updates, and advanced hardware replacement (RMA) for the duration of the license.

Do I really need to include this additional RMA contract (CON-ROB) in my purchase, or is it redundant since the Enterprise License already covers these services?

Thanks a lot for your help!

This is an optional add-on service that provides:

  • Advanced hardware replacement
  • Guaranteed next-business-day (NBD) shipment
  • 8x5 coverage (business hours, Monday–Friday)

This service is part of the Meraki Now program and is designed for customers who need faster turnaround times for hardware failures

Cisco Meraki RMA Only Service

I am not a Cisco employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Thanks a lot, that makes total sense now. Really appreciate your help as always, brother, you’re the man!

I would not bother for an AP. It would be cheaper to buy an additional AP if you wanted a cold standby onsite.

If you do go the Meraki NOW route, IMO it doesn't scale very well. There is no way to see any device's "NOW" status or entitlement in the Meraki dashboard.
