SNMP AP Index

Hello!

I monitoring my Cisco WLC 5508 (7.6.130.0) with PRTG system via SNMP.

I want to mark all of AP sensors with its name from WLC.

And the question is: сan the WLC change the AP_SNMP_INDEX (after some situations)?

For eхample:

First SNMP walk for 3 AP like this:

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.1.1.1.5.12.245.164.55.206.208 = "AP..d9eb"
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.1.1.1.5.12.245.164.55.208.0 = "AP..d9fe"
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.1.1.1.5.12.245.164.55.209.176 = "AP..da19"

But after some reasons (power loss, rebooting etc.)

Second SNMP walk became like this:

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.1.1.1.5.12.245.164.55.206.208 = "AP..d9eb"
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.1.1.1.5.12.245.164.55.208.0 =  "AP..da19"
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.1.1.1.5.12.245.164.55.209.176 = "AP..d9fe"

Hi

  I dont think you can change anything on the SNMP tree rather then the "value" after the index tree. In this case the AP hostname.

I think so too.
Actually I don't need to change SNMP tree. I suppose that WLC able to change SNMP index and hostname parity (as in example above) - it's not good for my monitoring system...

Perhaps I did't explain it right in the first post, sorry.

You did explain it right. But, I understand that this index is actually part of the SNMP tree. It is like a sub-directory on this big tree. That´s why I think you can not change.

Okay. I understand that index can't be changed as a part of the SNMP tree. But I mean may the WLC change the value of the index (in this case AP hostname). E.g. eventual case: one of AP is out of order for a long time and the WLC after rebooting changed the value.
So it's imortant to me to know how WLC assign the value to AP index: one time and forever, or everytime after reboot.

Index of AP cannot change, it is simply the decimal notation of the base radio MAC address
e.g.
Index = 240.29.45.77.90.64 (in Hex F01D.2D4D.5A40 = Base Radio MAC)
