Spectrum Expert 'WCS Unavailable'

trying to add Spectrum in Prime 3.0 got me the following error:

Error:Though the target host is reachable, the Spectrum Expert doesn't appear to be running on the host. Please confirm that 1) It is running, 2) It is configured to send interference measurements to this NCS and 3) The card is installed correctly in the appropriate slot, and then try adding it again.

 

AP is SE-Connect
Spectrum Expert installed on 2 PCs. one with FW enabled and one with disabled.
Spectrum Expert configured to send snmp traps and enable Cisco transmission with the IP of the Prime.

Spectrum Expert is able to see some activity via the SE-Connect AP.

 

Spectrum Expert has the following status at the bottom of the app:

WCS Unavailable.

 

Prime is pingable and accessible from both PCs.

 

Still SE pc is not added to Prime.

 

Any thoughts pls...

add se pc to prime ??? never did it this way.

be aware SE is an "old" product, and WCS has since migrated via NCS to Prime, So SE does not know about Prime!

 

open prime web interface from pc; select interface; select colored icon in interface

 / Device Type / Unified AP / ap-dha-706 / 802.11a/n/ac

this will dowload a configuration file for SE, best is if the file extension is assigned for opening by SE

this configuration file will contain the ip address of the AP and the KEY to access it.
