SSID in beacons disabled.

Hi everyone,

In what way disabling the SSID in beacond would affect my wireless network performance and functionality?

There would be no great impact. The only difference is that all of your users will have to know the ssid before they could connect.

Thanks, I know that but I would like to know if roaming or reauthentication would be affected in any way. I saw a post here saying that disabling the SSID in beacons would affect the network performance in a negative way.

Hi,

when the SSID beaconing is disabled you should verify this ssid on all ur access points so users can roam form one to another... or you can verify more than one template with different ssid's (ie the ssid of each access point) on each wireless adaptor so users also may be able to roam between AP's using different templates

there is no negative effect for that... but the cost of more security!!
