SSO in Guest anchor deployment

Hi wireless professionals,

I have a (maybe silly) question regarding 1:1 SSO deployment with 8.x code.

Lately I was building a lot of foreign WLCs using HA-SSO deployment. Is it offically supported to deploy this for anchor controllers?

For simplicity, let's assume I'm not using the WLC internal DHCP server feature

The SSO deployment won't save any licenses (because you use the smallest license count for anchor-only controllers).

But the EoIP (or in newer releases CAPWAP) tunnel convergence could be better in a SSO anchor deployment. Along with some other advantages (configuration sync ...)

Long story short:

- Has someone already deployed anchor-only WLCs using SSO?

- Perhaps someone from Cisco (reading this) could give a litte statement if this is an officially supported scenario.

Since 8.0 local DHCP is supported with HA-SSO, so that should not be a problem ;-) Using HA-SSO with anchor controllers is totally supported and full functional with 8.0 code.

Do keep in mind that the secondary controller should be connected to all VLANs just as the primary. If you don't use the HA SKU, the additional controller needs to have at least 50 AP licenses to be able to act like a secondary.
