Static WEP keys - Will this work Client=ascii and AP=hex

IOS version 12.2.(15)JA

I know it works if the AP and Client use hex WEP keys

but can ascii client keys work with hex AP keys.

Note: Both keys are the same , the client key is represented in ascii and the AP in hex. Anybody tried this?

I think this can be done. You could configure an ascii key on the client and convert this key into hexadecimal on the AP, before it is used there. The conversion could be done using info at http://www.asciitable.com/. HTH.
