I have (2) WLC-4404's with one in standby. I noticed this controller has been up for 300+ days and i was just wondering if it helps to reboot these once in a while? Any benefits or should i just leave them running?

Shane,
Great question. I manage over 40 WLCs and we have some that have an uptime of 200+ days and are working fine. If you arent having any issues and if the crash logs are clean I dont see a reason why you would have too .. What code are the WLCs on ?

Thank you George,
We're running version 4.2.176.0. Everything is fine with the Controller i was just wondering if rebooting has any benefits like Servers do with memory leaks and virtual memory etc.
Cisco gear is always great. We have a 15-20 year old 7200 router "tank" thats been running 24/7 for at least the 10 years i've been here lol.
Thanks again for the reply.

4.2 code is pretty stable code. Ive ran 4.2 for the last 2 years with little to no issues. I had to upgrade to 6 and then 7 to support our new AP deployments and its been 'running from the devil' ever since ... I think you'll be fine... Just watch the logs..
Thanks for supporting the rating system! very kind of you ...

I don't mind rebooting an appliance once a year. Heck, twice if I can get away with it.
I always upload the IOS during daytime (so I can see faults) but reboot doesn't happen until 4am to 5am weekdays.
NOTE: I just discovered one of our distro switches has an uptime of 3 years! Good gosh! Time to schedule a reload.
