hi
Before in a datasheet like datasheet of AP 1131 we can find the indoor range and the outdoor range but now with the new Access Points like 1040 or 1141 we can find nothing about the approximative range in meter for indoor and outdoor ..My question is : how we can find these informations -about range indoor and outdoor?
Think you All !
Best regards

That's not an easy question to answer.
Things that will affect your wireless signal:
1. Obstructions such as metal cabinet or a wired security mesh;
2. Too much channel interferrence;
3. Concrete/brick walls
If you are, for example, on a distant moon or planet and your AP is the only thing that's transmitting then at 802.11b you'll probably get around 50 metres away from the AP (no obstructions).

I will add a few items:
Cisco APs transmit at 100mW. BUT your clients (most) transmit at 35mW. So if your clients are at 35mW best pratice is to have your AP at 25 or 50mW. This way you preserve the link budget.
Lound isnt always better ...
