I have a 1200 series AP that I was able to access via terminal connection last week. It has not been configured for use yet. Today the status LED is amber and the radio LED is red. Every time the unit is powered down and up the same LEDs appear. The green lights appear for only a second.
I can no longer establish a terminal connection to the device (through COM port). I have read the previous posts indicating how to update the firmware, IOS, etc. and have tried all of the steps numerous times....no success.
Any ideas what might be wrong or what I can do next....aside from an RMA?
Thanks

Try pressing and holding ( > 20 seconds) the little button near the com / Ethernet ports.
I don't remember if you have to power cycle the AP with the button pushed, or if it can just be pushed and held.
Pusing the button for 20+ seconds should take it back to factory config. IF it doesn't work by just pressing the button, try holding the button and power-cycling the AP.
Good Luck

Thanks. I did go through this procedure a number of times.......no luck. Finally I spoke with a Cisco support tech and he recommended an RMA. A new unit is on its way.
