Unable to delete 5508 controller from Prime

Hello Everyone,

I tried adding a 5508 wireless controller to Prime but the process never completes. The controller goes into "Uknown Devices" and the collection status reads "Credential check in progress. Refresh the page manually to see the status". It has been in this stage for 3 days. SNMP settings on the controller are identical to other 5508 controllers that have been sucessfully added to Prime. Prime will also not allow me to delete the controller from Unknown Devices either. It completes the process and says "Delete Failed. Unknown error." If I try to re-add the controller Prime says that the controller has already been added. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Hello,

As per your query i can suggest you the following  solution-

The WCS (and NCS/Prime for that matter) must either be on the same subnet as the WLC management interface or on a subnet that is not on the WLC. Otherwise, the WLC drops the traffic because it received a packet on one VLAN/interface (management) to which it would send a reply on another (such as a dynamic interface which the WCS is on the same subnet.)
