Unable to Delete Crash Files (Full Flash Memory Preventing Upgrade)

I have found a couple of our 1200 AP's have full flash memory and will not upgrade from 12.3-2 JA to 12.3-4 JA image due to crash files. We are using a WLSE.

Should I attempt to run a CLI Archive with the overwrite option?

I followed the syntax instructions from a previous post. Am in enable mode, tried the /force and /recurse switch to no avail.

Is there any way to recover the AP without munging/erasing the IOS or doing a factory defaults reset?

Finally figured out what was going on. Using a SSH client; you need to hit the enter/return button _twice_ to actually delete the files, not a normal one-step confirmation process under the CLI.

Syntax that worked was delete /force /recursion flash:crashfilename .

Hit enter and a "filename {confirm[" comes up. Hit enter again and "filename [delete[ {y{" comes up. Confirm the deletion and the files are erased.

Wildcards work for multiple crashfiles, also.

Thanks

Yes, the key is to use the /force /recursive option and to hit the enter key when it asks to delete each crash file.
