upgd an LWAPP 1130AP (4.2.130/4.2.176) to 6.0 and back down to 4.2.130

Greetings,

I'm about to upgrade the code on 2 WiSM WLC's from 4.2.130 to 4.2.176 and then to 6.0.182. Then move these 2 WLC's to a new mobility group which will be created as well. After creating the mobility groups, I plan on moving ONLY 4 -1130's from an existing mobility group over to the new mobility group.

Q1 - Is it best practice to have the 1130 LWAPP AP's join the 4.2.176 prior to joining the 6.0.182 or does it really matter?

Q2 - Also, should I attach the 1130's to the upgraded controllers prior to creating the new mobility goups or after ?

Q3 - Lastly, are there any caveats from downgrading an 1130 LWAPP AP from 6.0.182 back to 4.2.130?

Thanks

-RC

Hi Richard,

1.  Doesn't matter.
2.  After the upgrade.
3.  Yes.  There's a significant chance of you loosing your configuration.  If I were you, wipe the config clean, downgrade the firmware and then re-configure.  This minimize the risk of some codes getting broken during the downgrade process.
