Hi,
Looking at USB adapters to do wireless site survey with Airmagnet. Have you tried any of the supported ones for N standard?
Proxim Orinoco 8494
Ubiquiti Networks SR71-USB
D-Link® Xtreme N™ Dual Band USB Adapter (DWA-160)
The D-link one costs allmost 4 times less than the others. Will it be worse then the others in site surveying?

Proxim Orinoco 8494 is what I have been using. I use to use the built in wireless adapter and had no problem with those. Any of the AirMagnet supported cards should work fine though.

I tried all three and all three work great. D-Link is likely the cheapest option to purchase. But it works great too. Saying that I use Orinoco cards for my surveys.
My SR71 broke when I accidently banged it in to the door frame during site survey walk (my fault really). The nice feature of SR71 was that it came with external antennas. If you stock adapting cables you can use that with different antennas for long shot site surveys.
I suggest you purchase 2 or three adapters you end up choosing. 2 are nice to have for a dual band site survey and keep the third as spare.
