Using API to change client devices description

I am new to Meraki, and I would like to know if I can use APIs to change the client devices' descriptions showing in the Dashboard, instead of edditing one-by-one, or downloading an XML/CSV file.

The reason, I need to change the end-host/devices' Description, is because right now I see a generic "iPhone" or MAC_address, and would like to customize them to the customer's name or function (cameraX, sensorY, etc.).  Thank you for your time and attention.  //GABO3

Yes you can achieve this with the update device API endpoint: https://developer.cisco.com/meraki/api-v1/update-device/
The right hand sidebar has code snippets that shows how you can do this in your code.
