Virtual WLC installation issue - stuck at 'Updating license storage'

Hi All,

I am in the process of installing a virtual WLC for one of our small office (which will have 2 AP 3502). This is our first deployment of vWLC in our environment.

I am using 7.6.130.0 (AIR-CTVM-K9-7-6-130-0.ova) on ESXi version is 5.5. We followed the deployment guide and was able to get to the point where we have configured the vm. We are now stuck at the point where it asks to 'Start up the vWLC' to configure it.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/virtual-wireless-controller/113677-virtual-wlan-dg-00.html#vwlc

It is stuck at the status where it shows: Updating license storage... Done (screenshot attached). it doesn't goes past this state. Tried to reboot the WLC a couple of times still no luck. It's now stuck at this point for about 2 hours now.

Did anyone of you has encountered such issue? Since this is our first deployment, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Utkarsh

Any file you download has the corresponding MD5 hash so you can check... Even the ova files.

Looks like it was an issue with the ova file. I got the AIR-CTVM-7-4-121-0.ova and rebuilt the WLC. It is now working and I have upgraded it to 7.6.130.0

Thats great Utkarsh. Just to add, actually what i do for any file after downloading to check the MD5 hash value for accuracy. But i don't know weather it can be done on OVA.

But normally in virtual scenario it is the problem of ova or misconfiguration.

That's great you resolved the issue by your self. I also thought of the issue of ova file and upgradation. Please rate this post as answered.
