vWLC Comments and Reviews?

Just looking for feedback on the vWLC from anyone who's running it, compared to a 5508.  With the vWLC available, looking to migrate our existing FlexConnect sites to this setup to free up hardware controllers for the centralized requirements.  Just seems to make sense $$$ wise, the vWLC seems to be quite a bit cheaper then an adder license for the 5508, taking in account the Flex only requirement of the vWLC.

Ruan:
I did not personnaly use it. But you can give a look to the limitations it has and if you don't use those features that are not supported on vWLC then it should be good for you. You have probably read the doc already but posting it again does not harm.

Thanks Amjad.  Yeah, I've taken a look at most things on it, just curious if any major 'caveats' other then those readily published.  Going to run a demo for awhile and move things over to it and see how it goes I think.  Though I'm wondering if the lack of replies indicates just a general lack of a user base, which is intersting..  I'm suprised Scott didn't have anything to comment on it actually, being a CDW guy.

It was Sunday. Scott has the right to be away from the forums during the weekend.

I think he'll be available today and can possibly shed some light.

Just to clarify.. I know the vwlc can't be a guest controller, but it can be a foreign controller TO a guest anchor/controller for guest services, correct?

That is my understanding, yes.

Yeah, but to be honest, wasn't sure if that meant IT acting as the guest anchor or attaching a wlan to a guest anchor.

As an update:  I setup th vWLC eval for testing and I can thankfully report that you can indeed attach to a guest controller.  Couldn't see why you wouldn't be able to do this, but certainly something that needed verifying from my point of view.  Need to finish configuring the controller and hope to move some test flex sites to it soon.
