Windows XP service discovery stops with ACU installed?

My company uses PEAP authentication and the ACU to get it all set up and running so I had to have it installed. However, as soon as I installed all of the CISCO software the automatic discovery of wireless access points that was working in Windows XP (both SP1 and now SP2) no longer works. the "view available networks" button never returns anything, even on nets that are not protected at all.

I can manually add the SSID into the ACU and then access a new network, but this is a pain and I don't often know the SSID to discover a network.

how can I turn this back on so that when I'm traveling I can pick up networks without having to know the SSID.

Uninstall ACU and install the firmware and driver only. Basically, "view available networks" is provided by the Windows XP supplicant (also known as Zero Wireless Configuration). If you install ACU, you partial use the supplicant provided by Cisco. Please go to the following URL on the pros and cons for using Cisco and Microsoft supplicant:

If I uninstall the ACU, then how do I configure and run the Cisco PEAP authentication?

I need the PEAP when I'm connected to the company network (it uses a SecurID token card for authentication)

Why can't the ACU discover new networks like the MS client can?

IS there a newer version forthcoming that will allow both to be installed at the same time?

thanks

Answer: We do not plan such feature. If you think that the feature is important to you, please contact the Cisco local sales team. The Cisco local sales team will help you to write a business case.

Answer: no, unless you use PEAP MS-CHAP v2.
