Wired Guest access possibilities using Guest Anchor WLC in DMZ

Hi all,

Assume having a foreign WLC in a centralized datacenter and another centralized Guest Anchor WLC in a DMZ for providing guest access. Flexconnect AP's from different remote offices are using the foreign and guest anchor WLCs providing wireless guest access.

With this set up is there also a way of providing wired guest access to such remote site? I know wired Guest Access is possible if you also have a local WLC availble on that site. In that case you can extend the L2 Guest VLAN onto WLC and let this tunnel the traffic to Guest Anchor.

But what are the options in case there is a L3 network in between guest user and WLC? I was thinking of:

- dedicate an AP to this role. Guest VLAN xx is also a allowed VLAN on trunk to AP. AP is tunneling guest traffic towards foreign/guest WLC. But I guess this AP role isn't available..

- use a 3800 in Mobility Express mode as this is having an onboard WLC which can probably talk to the Guest Anchor WLC?

thanks!

Richard
