Wireless ACK packets for broadcasts and multicast packets

Hi Guys,

can someone confirm if Broadcast and multicast are ack over the air(CSMA), i read all packets that are sent due to the nature of shared media and avoidance collision, all packets with no exception has to be ack by the receiver, but this sounds true only for unicast where there is an specific receiver... no sure if apply to  broadcast or multicast just beause the packets are sent....

Hello

Not true. Beacons don't get ack. The same is true about broadcast and multicast they don't get ack. It's a best effort if you get it you get it if you don't you don't. If you want to ensure multicast reliability then you can enable multicast direct in Cisco's world.  Unicast frames get ack.
