Wireless bridge between two APs Catalyst 9115 AXE

Hello all,

we've had a wireless bridge between two buildings as a backup solution for years, however, the current Cisco APs are quite old so we decided to replace them. We asked our Cisco partner for suggestions and they provided us with two Cisco Catalyst 9115 AXE access points. Now I have them on my desk and I am wondering how to configure them. Because when I use Lightweight AP firmware, they try to connect to WLC, and when I use Embedded Wireless Controller firmware (version 17.10.0.181), one of these APs becomes the controller and I am not able to figure out how to switch both to bridge mode and use them for a wireless bridge. I would be glad for any suggestions.

Take a look at Rasika’s blog he has a really good article on doing just this if your just looking to do it as a stand alone solution:https://mrncciew.com/2022/07/11/cisco-9100-ap-as-wgb/

There is also the cisco doco https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/9800/config-guide/b_wl_16_10_cg/workgroup-bridges.html

Also the mesh deployment guide might be of use
