HI,
We're trying to connect to an SSID that is non broadcast but can only ever seem to connect to the "broadcasted" SSID.
We're using XP with a D-Link wireless adapter. The AP is an 1100. One SSID is set as broadcast for guest access whilst the other is for office users and therefore by default is not broadcasted. How do you get around this issue where you need to connect to the non-broadcasted SSID??? - there must be techies out there that have configured multiple SSID's with 1100's and got them to work successfully using XP.
I look forward to your replies in anticipation!!
Kind Regards
Steve

Only way to connect to the nonbroadcast SSID is to manually configure it (without Typo errors) on your client adapter. Make sure you have not done any typo errors. Also if u are using a WEP (static) key for this SSID,that also need to be configured without typo errors (cut and paste will work). Hope that helps!

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I have done this and I still only conenct to the broadcasted SSID. I'm not using WEP just yet as I prefer to start with very little config and then add other parameters such as WEP or WPA etc etc but as yet I can't even get an assosiation

Not sure if you run into this:

I think that SP2 fixes the problem.

Thanks for your reply. I have seen this however we will have clients coming in with XP and 2K. It seems odd to me that I can't get this to work - others must have this "run of the mill" configuration where they have more than one SSID/VLAN configured surely ???
I will try XP SP2 however and let you know. Please though could someone let me know if they have acheived this basic configuration.
Thanks
Steve
