Hi all

I need help on configuring guest vlan on the 2500 controller and get it working. I have attached some pictures (screen shots) of how i configured it but i am struggling to get it working. The diagram (high-level) is at the bottom of the attached file.

Here is what i have done

> Two VLANs running

> Configured WLAN corporate Users (SSID-DV8).

> This is working 100% with no issues at all

Guest network

> I have created a guest network called (Baeti)but can't get it to work.

> This is VLAN 25 in the controller assigned to port 2 on the controller.

> Users do get ip addresses from the dhcp residing in the controller.

> Traffic from this vlan should go straight to internet via the router (192.168.0.1/24) but this is not happening.

> Where am i missing it?

Hi Sandeeb

I went for option 2 as per your suggestion and I got it right. All i did was to trunk the port and everything worked.

Thanx very much for your help.

Hi,

There are two ways:

1. You can use just port1 and configure the switchport as trunk , allowing multiple vlans.

means Guest and Internal user will go via same port 1.

2. If you are using 2 ports on WLC for two vlans then make sure while creating the Dynamic interfaces you tag port1 with management vlan and tag port 2 with the other vlan.

Case1-

Just use Port 1 -- Switch port to be configured as trunk and allow vlan xx(Internal) and 25(Guest)

Case 2-

Use Port 1 and 2-

Switchport mapped with port1 (management) to be tagged with management (Vlan xx - internal)

Switchport mapped with port 2 to be tagged with vlan 25(Guest)

On the WLC Management interface to be mapped with port1 and Dynamic interface for vlan 25 to be mapped with port 2.
