Hi
I am looking to design a hotel wireless solution that offers different premiums of wireless service,
1 service being free limited wifi for a set amount of time i.e. 1hr
the other being a premium faster wifi that is paid for service.
I am considering using 2 different SSID's or possibly a single SSID and forcing users to redirect to a webpage that will handle the signup or payment of premium wifi.
in terms of a Cisco hardware, will a 5508 WLC do the job? Or will this require a Cisco ISE server? Or will this need to be some kind of 3rd party software?
If anyone has implemented something similar before any comments/ advice would be much appreciated.
thanks,
Matt

You would need ISE, and I think a third party solution as well. There is an ISE guest package.
You could also consider using the Cisco Meraki solution combined with the third party solution of Splash Access. You can read about it here:

Here is some general info on Meraki Hospitality solutions.

If it was my money, I would use a Cisco Meraki solution. It is much simpler to setup, and likely to be cheaper.

Hey Philip,
Thanks for your input here, im certanly a fan of the Meraki wireless products, certainly a lot easer and quicker solution to configure. Whilst I am pushing for a Meraki wireless solution I believe the customer has opted for the Cisco WLC + Aironet WAP solution.
Regards,
Matt
