Hello Experts,

We are engaging in deployment of wireless connectivity for one of our locations, which might also be used for survelliance purpose apart from user level access.

the location is a warehouse area which lot of moving components.

how can we determine the adequacy of wireless signal strength & reach on certain points in this location. Is there any way we can test the reach by setting up something very basic with pure testing intention or any other tools.

Appreciate all help, thanks.

Yes there are tools doing that. But they are often not free.

I suggest you google for "site survey tool".

Most famous is AirMagnet but it's far from free.

It's called a site survey. You basically take one or a few IOS access points that you place in places you think are fine and you verify the signal strength with clients at various locations. This way you adapt the placement of APs until you think they're good

Thank you. After these AP's tested with clients, is there a way to generate any report using any wireless component , which shows the strength, SNR etc.
