Wireless users getting only 70 Mb Speed on 150 Mb connection

Dear Support,

Customer site wireless users are getting around 70 Mb speed on 150 Mb connection. Through LAN we are getting full speed  (150 Mb).

We tested with only one wireless user connected to the WLC-2504, and one Laptop (LAN only),

wireless user connected to AP 1702I ac with 5Ghz. No other users in the network.

Can you please advice how to get more speed on wireless network

Thanks

Mohamed

A lot of factors influence the available capacity on the wireless medium (which is something also known as the channel utilization). Even when your access-point and test client are the only two devices using the specific channel(s), does not mean that you will be able to perform data transfers as fast as the established data-rate. The rule of thumb is that, depending on a lot of factors, somewhere around 60-70% of the data-rate can be reached. By performing a wireless site survey and taking the time to create a good wireless design some factors can be mitigated.

One of the factors is the client itself, so lets start with that. Which wireless standards does it support, what is the established data-rate during the testing and which RSSI and SNR values does the controller show?

The value sounds like the client's wireless NIC only has a single antenna.  Please tell us the exact model of the wireless NIC and the driver version the wireless NIC is running on.
