Dear Folks,
I have two WiSM's configured, in which one of the WisM controller password was misplaced. It needs to be reset. The firmware version in which WiSM runs is 4.2 .
My question is , Will configuration of the controller needs to be redone for the entire WiSM blade or only for the controller or just it resets the password without affecting the configuration?
Appreciating your advise.
Regards,
SIDdarth

Hi,
Configuration will need to be redone.
The process is to reboot the WiSM with a console connection, when you see the CISCO logo at the beginning of the boot process, press "Escape". A menu appears. Choose option 5, erase configuration, then continue booting normally.
This removes all config on the WiSM, including password.
There is no other recovery procedure, unless you have a saved configuration file for your WiSM somewhere and try to get the password from there.
