Wism2 and Wism1 in the same Chassis

Hi,

I w'll install one Wism2 into existing Catalyst 6509 running 12.2(17)SXF IOS version, and has Two other Wism modules (old generation)

Could advise witch IOS can support these three mixt Wism?

And can you tell me if I’ll configure the ports channel for the new WISM2?

Regards

Abdelaziz

I've got WiSM-1 and WiSM-2 in the same chassis.  Upgrade to SXJ versions and the WiSM-2 will configure it's own portchannel.  The WiSM-1 port channel will also be automatically created.

Have you looked at the WiSM2 config guide? So you will need to run at minimum 12.2(33)SXJ

Note: Sup 720 software version 12.2.(33)SXJ is the minimum software required for operation with the WiSM2 controller.

Thanks Scott for your replay,

As I see at this documentation:

The Supervisor automatically creates a port-channel interface for the independent controller in the Cisco WiSM2

And how about the port channel configuration that already manually created for the existing WISM1 (old generation)?

I must to configure the port-cannel for these existing module or the Supervisor we’ll  do also create them?

Best Regards

I had installed the WISM 2 with success, using IPSERVICES 12.2(33)SXJ5 IOS, and all APs (CAP2602I) can join the Wism2.

But after this installation, some users can't connect in some areas.

In fact:

With the same Station I can connect in all other floors (about 10 floors), but not in the floor 4 and 8.

For your information I shut down the new WISM2, and so I can connect with my station in floor 4 and 8.

Do you have please idea to troubleshoot this issue?

Best Regards

Are both WISMs in the sam mobility group ? Same config ?

Thanks

Based on the above it doesnt look like its working on either WISM. What security are you using ? Turn off all security and see if it works. Then readd security .. Looks to me to be a config issue.
