WLC 2006 port 1 not work?

Hi everybody,

I'm a newbie in wireless, recently I got a WLC2006 and AP1130 - IOS: 12.4(10b)JDE

- The AP has been changed LAP mode already

- AP-manager port and managment port are PORT 4

- I have configured the WLC's "Internal DHCP server"...

When I plug the AP to WLC port 2 and 3, it can get the IP address from DHCP

however, when I plug it to WLC port 1, it gets nothing. and the IP address is 0.0.0.0

Does it mean the port is damaged already?

Or can I do anything to check or enable the port 1 again?

Thanks

Sam

Here is a support doc on the 2106 that has replaced the 2006 model that you have.

Change the management to port 1 an see if you can manage the WLC if you can, then the port is fine, if not, then maybe the port is bad.

Just tried your suggestion, and management to port 1 is fine,

Any hints with that ?

Thanks

Sam

Well that was just to verify the port. It is suggested that APs are not connected to the WLC direct and that they should be connected to a switch. My suggestion is to do the same. Even though it may (or may not) work, it's not supported by TAC. This also includes the 2504 which has replaced the 2106. The ports are not meant to support access point is where I'm getting at. Makes sense?
