WLC 3504 HA SSO: AP SSO fails. MAP(s) drop on WLC switchover.

Hello All,

I have a WLC 3504 and 5520 configured with HA SSO having 8 APs (2 RAPs and 6 MAPs). The WLC is upgraded with 8.5.140.0 firmware. The WLC(s) are in sync with SSO enabled. The AP(s) are configured in 802.11a mesh (5GHz). On commanding a force switchover (redundancy force-switchover) from Primary WLC all the MAP(s) drop from the network and rejoin. Sometimes the MAP(s) get stranded and take a lot of time (3 ot 4 hrs to join back). On rebooting the MAP(s) they join quickly. My question is why is the AP SSO failing on switchover?

The setup details are as below:

- WLC 3504 or 5520 in sync with SSO enabled

- RAP(s) and MAP(s) configured in 802.11a mesh network (5GHz) with custom channel

Is there any configuration that I am missing? Or there is a bug all together?

as per my knowledge...

When WLCs are in SSO:

From version 7.5: only RAP are supported , for MAPs the state is not synched.
