WLC 9800, RRM and power levels

Hi,

Have a problem getting TPC to work properly in our fabric-wlc. The RF-tag and profile that is pushed by DNAC to the controller looks good with our range of allowed dBms to work in, but the APs have all power levels enabled and in use, obviously controlled by global RRM and not the RF tag/profile. I even tried to push global changes through "Radio Configurations -> RRM", but nothing really happened. Shouldnt the APs restrict themselves through the RF tag pushed by DNAC? The old 8540 restricted the levels through a 802.11a profile, so thought this would be the same. Bug?

What code? What 9800 type? What APs model?

Check this bug in case you're running old code:

CSCvs06271 17.12.2:RRM AP Transmit power not moving into the maximum or minimum configured power.

DNAC is similar to Prime/gui/cli pushing config to WLC and that's about it. it's up to WLC to obtain the config, based on RF environment the RF group leader will compute the values based on global/RF-profile.

First, check who's RF leader for the Radio you're checking and its global config, if there're multiple WLCs in play.

Are both legacy 8540 and 9800 have APs(see each other) in the same deployment using the same RF-profile name.
//Here's the catch, use different rf-profile name in this case but the downside is, it'll start to find APs from each other will be identified as rogues.
//If RF-group names are the same then the global and rf-profile config should be identical.
