Hi all,
Setup overview
Wireless setup accross different branches (WAN) with WLC at head office.
> configured h-reap mode AP's for remote branches, and local mode AP's for devices under same LAN as the WLC.
> Different subnets for different branches defined and vlan identifier assigned.
> virtual interfaces created in wlc for all respective branch vlans.
Observation: For all the additional virual interfaces created for the vlans we see same mac address (same mac address seen for diff vlan interface configured) and found mac flaps for against this mac in the lan where wlc is placed.(flap was intermediate and did not cause outage though)
Questions:
1. Is it okay to connect the management port only to the network and let the entire communication go through it?
2. is it necessay to have a vlan identifier assigned in wlc(locally) even for the remote branch subnets?
Thanks in advance
Tejo
