WLC and LAP Registration over WAN

Hi All,

I have to two LAP at Hongkong and one WLC at Singapore. wanted to know, what is the best practice for LAP to get registered with WLC.

LAP = 1251

WLC = 4402

SR = 4.2

Hi Edward,

The main point is that timeout between AP message to controller and answer from controller (RTT) has to be less than 100 ms. Make sure your link allows that.

Then you can provision the controller IP address to your AP using:

- DHCP option 43

- DNS (CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER host mapping to controller management IP address).

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Is it possible to assign controller ip statically on AP.

One more thing can we configured the AP to switch the local data traffic locally, instead of coming back from controller.
