Yes, you can chane your AP to run in FlexConnect mode.

Hi steve,

our WLC(ver. 7.0.116)  is in local area.

how can I switch client data traffic locally as below.

this is not a remote AP situation.

thanks

regards,

SG

Like Steve mentioned, you have to configure the AP's in FlexConnect mode and not local mode.  Here is a guide that explains how to set this up and what you need to do in order for it to work:

Is it possible using flexmode when WLC is in local?

I heard that flexmode is a mothod without deploying a controller in each office.

customer wants that access points must switch client data traffic locally without sending data traffic through the CAPWAP tunnel to WLC.

thanks

Yes you can still run FlexConnect, even if there is a WLC local to the site.

With FlexConnect, you could use a 7500 in a DC, or some other centralized location, and then just have APs at each location.

Are APs managed by local WLC? we have no remote contoller for FlexConnect.

Do I need to upgrade WLC from 7.0.116 to 7.2 higher?

thanks

No you don't need to upgrade. In 7.0 the feature is called HREAP.

H-REAP is the same as FlexConnect... Cisco changed the name.  What Steve mentioned is the way to do it.
