Dhcp required is the only way and what I have used on the WLC. The other is to look at the WLC logs or the switch logs and or arp table and look for multiple MAC address on the same ip and remove that Ip from dhcp or blacklist that Mac on the WLC.

Hello Dave,

As per your query i can suggest you the following solution-

To prevent the wlan users in aIOS APs to use static ip address we can use DHCP.We can also use the logs in WLC to remove the ip from DHCP.

Hope this will help.

Hi, my client is not using WLC but I want the feature in "DHCP Required" which I believed is only available if you have a controller?

That is correct... only on the WLC it is available... there is no feature like that on autonomous.

Thanks,

Scott

Dave,

Are you talking about autonomous or aIOS? Autonomous there is no equivalent option. You would have to look at arp tables for duplicates and remove those IP address from the dhcp lease.

Hi Scott,

Yes I am. I might lessen the DHCP lease time to hours instead of days.

Thanks.

If you have an ip conflict, you need to identify th address ad either blacklist the mac address or remove the ip address from the dhcp server.  Lowering the lease time will not help.

Thanks,

Scott
