WLC, ISE 1.4 Guest L3 CWA - Username issue

Hi all,

I am currently testing CWA for guest web authentication with ISE 1.4 and WLC 8.0.110.0 and so far I got it working. However what I am currently struggling with is that those authenticated users show up with their MAC address as their username on the WLC instead of the one they use to login into the web portal hosted on the ISE. Is there a way to change that?

We have the same issue.

Virtual WLC 8.0.121.0 + ISE 1.3.0.876

I wanted to quickly chime in and say that the issue is not existent when using WLC version 8.2.100.0 and ISE 2.0.

The username shows unknown in the first step and after CWA authentication it shows the correct one. I tested it with Radius Proxy as well as direct user managment on the ISE.
