Dear Community
I manage a topology based upon wlc with different licensing sizes that is getting centralized. previously there were wlc in every location, the target is all on flexconnect with a pair of wlc at a central site.
does anyone know how to consolidate licenses, eg there is a 25 ap license in location x, can I add that count to the 100 ap license count in hq to be able to migrate the ap's ?
I was thinking of using the built in eval license for the migration duration, to get the time needed to move the licenses.
any help is highly appreciated.

Hi albertbank,
What you're trying to do is called rehosting. Please keep in mind that you can only do this for controllers of the same model. And you can only rehost the AP adder licenses, not the base AP licenses.
Additionally, evaluation licenses cannot be rehosted.
See the configuration guide below for more information.

Kane
thanks for your feedback. I am aware that it can only be done for identical models, but the base-license info is new to me. Basically that means I cannot reuse a couple of 50 ap licenses anymore.
Need to talk to the vendor I guess.
Cheers
