hi
Can someone help me to understand the basics of client profiling (Local/Radius) . Why? Whats benifit?

The simple answer is, profiling tries to identify the type of client. For example, Windows Workstation, Apple Laptop, etc. Having this data available allows you to create rules to allow or disallow device type for access.

What's the difference between local & RADIUS profiling, and when to use which?
Config guide doesn't really explain...

You can do local profiling if you don't have a RADIUS server that supports that. ISE 2.x or an equivalent would be your best option as it will be more feature rich than local profiling.
I'm use RADIUS device profiling to do dynamic VLAN assignment for BYOD devices. This allows me to use a single SSID and place devices on two VLANS with different access rules.
