WLC2504 N+1 Reboot without failover?

This seems like a simple question but I can't find the answer... How do I reboot the primary WLC (in this N+1 failover pair) without the secondary taking over? Do I physically have to power it down/pull cables on the secondary or is there a trick?

Disable the link(s) to the secondary and then reboot the primary.

Yes, you can do that by making secondary offline, if you do not want APs go & register to secondary while primary is off.

Also you can try below, on secondary you can enable MIC Authorization, in that way unless you add all your APs ethernet MAC those AP won't able to register for that WLC.

All the replies confirm my suspicions... I just find it odd there's no "built in" way to temporarily disable it. I guess shutting down the interfaces on the connection switch(es) is the best way because at least that way you don't have to pull any cables and the WLC will still be accessible on the network simply by re-enabling the switchports. Thanks!
