WPA + AES on Wireless AP

Hello Friends,

We have Cisco 1231 and 1252 wireless APs working in Autonomous mode. I have been trying to implement WPA + AES with no luck. I understand AES should be used with WPA2 however, I have to get the WPA + AES working as this is being pushed by the company. We have sites in Europe using Cisco 4400 WLCs and AP1242 and they were able to get this to work.

Is this because of some restriction when the APs are working in Autonomous mode that you cannot implement WPA + AES?

I will really appreciate any help and suggestions on this.

WPA 2 and AES is supported on Cisco Aironet 1200 series radio modules with the part numbers AIR-RM21A and AIR-RM22A. However, the Cisco Aironet 1200 radio module with the part number AIR-RM20A does not support WPA 2. for the configuration guide follow the URL :
