Cisco Bug CSCuj57707- IOS-XR Release 4.1.2

Hi Cisco here is the link that talks about the bug in the Title bar;

Symptom:
AS9k-8T-L line card reported the following DIAG failed and port getting shutdown.

RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:Sep 25 07:06:46.164 GMT: pfm_node_rp[328]: %PLATFORM-DIAGS-3-PUNT_FABRIC_DATA_PATH_FAILED : Set|online_diag_rsp[237686]|System Punt/Fabric/data Path Test(0x2000004)|failure threshold is 3, (slot, NP) failed: (0/6/CPU0, 3)
LC/0/6/CPU0:Sep 25 07:06:46.205 GMT: ifmgr[187]: %PKT_INFRA-LINK-3-UPDOWN : Interface TenGigE0/6/0/2, changed state to Down
LC/0/6/CPU0:Sep 25 07:06:46.205 GMT: ifmgr[187]: %PKT_INFRA-LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN : Line protocol on Interface TenGigE0/6/0/2, changed state to Down

Conditions:
PLATFORM-DIAGS-3-PUNT_FABRIC_DATA_PATH_FAILED alarms set

Workaround:
Reloading effected AS9k-8T-L line card via "hw-module location x/y/x reload"

Further Problem Description:
If the issue reoccurs, collect command as specified in the "Cmds to be captured" attachment and contact the DE community time for further actions, which will help in root causing the issue.

 

I realized that IOS-XR 4.2.3 code seems to be hit by this bug. Please is the above workaround also applicable for the 4.2.3 code?

Hi Esosa,

 

These diag failure messages are generic in nature and can be due to several reasons. Check out this doc as you may be hitting that bug or a different one or a hardware problem:

I would recommend opening a TAC case with the commands listed in that doc so that they can verify the issue.
