We have an error-level alarm on an ASR 9006 running v5.3.1 concerning mixed memory mode on a line card:
#48 : :RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:Jul 22 08:21:48.965 2015:shelfmgr[390]: %PLATFORM-SHELFMGR-3-MIXED_MEMORY_ALARM : System enters mixed line card memory mode
Ignoring SFPs, here is the router's inventory:
NAME: "module 0/RSP0/CPU0", DESCR: "ASR9K Route Switch Processor with 440G/slot Fabric and 6GB" PID: A9K-RSP440-TR, VID: V06, SN: NAME: "module 0/RSP1/CPU0", DESCR: "ASR9K Route Switch Processor with 440G/slot Fabric and 6GB" PID: A9K-RSP440-TR, VID: V06, SN: NAME: "module 0/0/CPU0", DESCR: "Cisco ASR 9000 Series SPA Interface Processor-700" PID: A9K-SIP-700, VID: V03, SN: NAME: "module 0/0/0", DESCR: "1-port Channelized STM1/OC3 V2 to DS0 Shared Port Adapter" PID: SPA-1CHSTM1/OC3V2, VID: V01, SN: NAME: "module 0/1/CPU0", DESCR: "20-Port, 16x1GE_4xT Packet Transport Optimized LC" PID: A9K-4T16GE-TR, VID: V01, SN: NAME: "module 0/2/CPU0", DESCR: "20-Port, 16x1GE_4xT Packet Transport Optimized LC" PID: A9K-4T16GE-TR, VID: V01, SN:
We have another router with a slightly different buildout that does not exhibit this alarm. Could it be the presence of the SIP-700 card?
Is this alarm something to be concerned about?
Thanks,
Stephen
