Hello,
I am looking for an option how to reset ASR9K with eXR operating system to the factory default settings.
It looks like the "commit replace" command in XR VM only wipes out the entire configuration of XR VM.
All users and groups created in Admin VM remain configured.
Is there a command which wipes both VMs simultaneously?
Best Regards,
Peter

You should not need to touch the admin configuration, there is a lot that happens there that the user should not manipulate.
If you want to erase the root user and factory default the router you will want to iPXE or USB reimage the router, this starts from scratch with creating a new root user, applying the XR configuration, etc. Save your config to a server first.

At least for customers migrating from cXR to eXR is this user management in XR and Admin VM a new behavior.
I have one question regarding the first user on System Admin VM. According the System Setup and SW Installation guide:
- If there is no first user, then the first user on XR (based on the order of creation) is synced to System Admin VM.
- Only the first user or disaster-recovery user created on System Admin VM synchronizes with the host VM.
- The first user or disaster-recovery user deleted on System Admin VM does not synchronize with the host VM. The host VM retains the user.
Does is really mean that even if I have the option to change the first user in Admin VM , to get rid of it from the host VM I have to reimage the router?

Correct. eXR is more linux-like, this would be like trying to change root to another name. There was a topic on here recently about changing the first user and my recommendation is don't do it. I would recommend re-image or just add a new user and give them the permissions you want.
